Hidden Haven: Serenity in the trees

Back in the winter of 2003, Rob and Larry, good friends from San Francisco, went looking for an investment/ vacation home. It was a dark, cold, rainy afternoon when we came upon this one. The location was great, the big living/dining room very charming, and we loved the trees. However, there was no deck, the carpet stunk, and about 50 other things desperately needed work. We were iffy at best.
Fortunately, Larry's girlfriend (now wife) was with us. She looked around carefully, imagination humming, and as we got back in the car, quietly informed us that we were buying this one.
Larry is a skilled and daring carpenter, Rob is organized and good at praising Larry's skills, and we are both smart enough to defer to our wives in matters of taste. So, many months of labor and shopping expeditions later, we ended up with a beautiful forest retreat.
What we didn't expect, quite, was how much everyone else would love it. We have many repeat customers, at least two of whom spent their honeymoon AND first anniversary here, and so many of them rave about their stays. Just read their comments! (Comments/FAQ page.)
